24 inch Sui-Uch main gas pipeline blown, electricity suspended

TAMBOO Jan 23 (PPI): Main 24 inch dia pipeline supplying gas to Uch Power Plant from Sui was blown. Electricity supply form Phase-1 of the power plan was suspended to the various parts of the country.
According to official sources terrorists blew up 24 inch dia pipeline in Mir Hassan area of Nasirabad midnight last night. As a result gas supply to Uch Power Plant was suspended. Subsequently supply of 550 mw electricity from Phase-1 of the plant was suspended to various parts of the country and electricity crisis worsened in several parts of Balochistan, Sindh and Punjab.
Sources said that repair fo the pipeline has been undertaken and it is likely to be completed with 24 hours.
