QUETTA: The 97th meeting of the Balochistan University’s Board of Advance Study and Research was held here the other day.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal presided over the meeting, which was attended by the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mehrab Khan Pirkani, Dr. Mohsin Raza, Dr. Rasool Rasool Bakhsh Tareen, Dr. Akram Dost, Dr. Akhtar Muhammad Kasi, Registrar of the University, Muhammad Tariq Jogezai, besides other members of the Board.
Addressing the Board meeting, the Vice Chancellor said that role of the Board is important in promotion of the research activities.
The future projects are reviewed for implementation in view of the interest of the higher educational institution, he maintained.
The Vice Chancellor also said that the steps are being taken for promotion of the academic research in the University.
He stressed that the M.Phil scholars need to get their research papers published in any of the international journals.
This would also help improve the ranking of the University and the quality of education, he said.
Professor Dr. Javed Iqbal on the occasion mentioned that all the examinations were ended.
Different matters pertaining to the M.Phil and Ph.D programmes, procedure of the examinations and admissions in the University as well as the court work report and launching of the news classes were also discussed on the occasion.
Certain decisions were also made during the meeting.
