QUETTA: The workers of All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union staged protest demonstration in the premises of Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) headquarter here on Tuesday.

They regretfully pointed out that the workers are feeling them insecure due to certain targeted incidents including that occurred in Gawadar on Monday when a worker was shot dead in the QESCO sub-division office there.
While the workers are being targeted in some cases, they are also loosing lives in other incidents of bomb blasts, and some are becoming victim of electrocution. Many have been electrocuted to death in different incidents, they noted with concern.
The WAPDA labour union leaders charged that the government and the concerned authorities have failed in providing protection to the workers even during their duty hours when they are maintaining electricity supply in unfavorable situation most of the time.
The concerned Minister and other high ups did never bother to attend funerals of the deceased employees or console with their bereaved families in the province.
They demanded full security for the workers of WAPDA / QESCO all over the province, and if it was not done, then the workers would lodge strong protest rather.
Meanwhile, the workers also observed boycott of their duties in the QESCO headquarter and other offices.
The office bearers of the Officers Association, Ahmed Hussain Lehri, Sher Hasan, and others have also expressed solidarity with the WAPDA workers.
They also shared sorrow and grief over the Gawadar killing incident.
