Role of tribal elders vital in maintaining law & order, says Chief Secretary

QUETTA: The Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha has called on the tribal elders to extend wholehearted practical cooperation to their respective local administrations in maintaining law and order and eliminating the law breaking elements.
He was addressing a tribal jirga held at the Circuit House Loralai the other day.
The Advisor to Chief Minister for Forests and Wildlife, Ubaidullah Jan Babat, Member Provincial Assembly, Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasser, former Provincial Minister, Maulana Asmatullah, former Provincial Minister, Faizullah Akhunzada, Provincial Ameer of Jama’at-e-Islami Balochistan, Abdul Mateen Akhunzada, tribal and political personalities like Nawabzada Mehboob Khan Jogezai, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan Jogezai, Naimatullah Jalalzai, Allahyar Jogezai and the delegations from Killa Saifullah, Barkhan, Musakhail Shirani and Zhob districts.
Also in attendance were the senior administrative officers and police high ups including the Additional Commissioner Zhob, Talha Hussain Faisal, Regional Police Officer Zhob, Zulfiqar Ali Larak, Deputy Commissioner, Barkhan, Abdul Mateen, Deputy Commissioner Loralai, Shah Zaib Kakar, Deputy Commissioner, Zhob, Nazar Muhammad Khetran, Deputy Commissioner, Musakhail Agha Nabeel Akhtar, Deputy Commissioner, Killa Saifullah, Amir Sultan, Additional Secretary to Chief Secretary, Zahid Saleem, District Police Officer, Loralai, Muhammad Azam Jamali, DPO, Barkhan, Syed Aminullah, ADC Revenue, Aslam Soomr, Commandant Loralai Scouts, Colonel Faisal, ADC General, Sher Shah Ghilzai and other concerned senior officials.
Chief Secretary Balochistan on the occasion said that the tribal elders of Zhob Division are patriotic, and their patriotism is beyond any doubt.
He mentioned that the basic objective behind the tribal jirga is to sit together and keep a strict vigil on the increasing terrorist acts and take steps for their elimination.
Chattha said that it would be a very difficult to tackle terrorism without the active support of the public and the tribal elders, so they would have to gather on a single platform with the government for the purpose.
The Chief Secretary urged the tribal elders not to provide any shelter and protection to the terrorist elements fleeing from other parts of the country into their areas.
He said that we realize the sacrifices rendered by the FC jawans in line of duty, and the situation calls from us that we have not to provide space to the terrorists at our homeland.
He expressed the hope that the terrorists would not be finding shelter in the Zhob division. We have to discourage the terrorist elements at all cost, he stressed.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion assured to take steps for the drought affected areas in the Division besides resolving the issues of electricity and communication means.
He also assured to take steps for up-gradation of the Loralai Municipal Committee as the Corporation.
Earlier, addressing the tribal jirga, the Commissioner Zhob Division said that the tribal elders and ulemas are very respectable to us. He also said that we know that the people of Zhob area hospitable, but one should be vigilant that none may exploit it for one’s nefarious designs.
