PAL arranges special literary session: Education, literature play vital role in nurturing high human values

QUETTA: The renowned intellectual, scholar and legal expert, Dr. Abdul Rehman Bhrahvi has said that the high human values could be upheld through enlightenment and literature.
He was speaking at an informal sitting arranged by the Pakistan Academy of Letters here the other day.
The literary personalities Professor Abdul Rauf, Professor Arif Zia, Dr. Ali Dost Baloch, Waheed Zaheer, Panah Baloch, Akram Mengal, Amir Hamza, Mutlib Mengal, Sarfraz Baloch, Sadia Raz and Amarat Murad besides a large number of young writers attended the session.
Expressing his views, Dr. Brahvi said that Balochistan is a very fertile land from the knowledge and literary perspective, but it is regretted to say that highhandedness have been meted out with it in the literary sector as well like other sectors. He said that the willful attempts were made to keep us backward in the past, and it is necessary to bring that attitude to an end, otherwise it would be difficult to stop the negative impacts of that (attitude) in future.
The literary history of the sub-continent discloses that the Brahvi and Balochi literature is the most ancient and rich and it is equal to the Arabic and Persian when it comes to talk about the richness of literature, Dr. Brahvi mentioned. However, adding he regretfully said that the tendency of research could not be flourished as a result our literary pieces could not be brought before in time.
So, we need to work a lot on these lines, he maintained.
He said that the knowledge and literature could play vital role in promotion of the high human values, which motivates us to get united instead of extrication.
The eminent scholar of the Brahvi language also stressed the need to give priority to the steps for development of the mother languages.
Dr. Abdul Rehman Brahvi also said that the history would not forgive those having interests in the literature and languages or those who are indulged in grouping in them.
He said that we are being made feel that there happens to be no importance of literature and book culture, which is wrong.
He said that we can survive in annuls of the history just through literature and education.
