Over 10 million trees to be planted

QUETTA,(PPI): Government has decided to plant 10.15 million trees during tree plantation campaign this year.
This was stated by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while chairing a meeting here Monday.
Adviser on forests and wildlife Obedullah Babat, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha and senior officers of the department attended.
Chief Minister called report of trees planted in different district sof the province, their look after and wasted trees.
Speaking on the occasion he said provincial government has set a target of planting 10.15 million tre3es during current year tree plantation campaign. He said planting of trees sold be accorded at government offices, schools, colleges, hospitals, police lines, parks and sports grounds. Forest department should provide tree free of cost through local bodies representatives to plant trees at their houses.
He also called report of trees planted during tree plantation campaign last year and tree looked after from Deputy Commissioners.
He said no ignorance would be tolerated during tree plantation campaign. During this not only target should be achieved but maximum attention should be paid on look after of trees.
Forest department was directed to prepare a report on planting 10.15 million plants in two days and submit it to Chief Secretary.
It was also decided that Pak Army, FC and Police would be contacted for success of tree plantation drive and through a memorandum of understanding tree plantation drive would be made successful with the cooperation of these organisations.
