Senate elections from Balochistan: Process of issuance of nomination papers begins PEC says papers issued in name of 30 candidates on first day; process to remain continued today in Quetta as well

QUETTA: The process of issuance of the nomination papers to the candidates for the upcoming Senate elections from Balochistan got underway with the display of public notice in the office of Provincial Election Commissioner on Tuesday.
The nomination papers were issued to 30 candidates on first day of the issuance of the nomination papers as informed by the PEC, Syed Sultan Bayazeed here.
The candidates were included mainly the leaders of different political parties including Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani and Jamal Shah Kakar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo of National Party, Dr. Jahanzaib Jamaldini of Balochistan National Party (BNP-M), Mrs. Shama Parveen Magsi, Mrs. Nasreen Khetran, Mir Faiq Jamali and others.
The process of issuance of the nomination papers would also remain continued today (Wednesday).
Afterwards, the process of submission of nomination papers from the candidates would be started and it would remain continued on February 12-13.
Then the scrutiny of the papers would be carried out on February 16 and 17, 2015.
While the nomination papers can be issued or submitted on behalf of the candidates, however, it would be mandatory for the proposers and seconders of the candidates to be present at the time of scrutiny of the papers.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers would be conducted from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on February 16 and 17.
The objection on nomination papers could be made on the papers with the Secretary and Member Election Commissioner of Pakistan from 09:00 AM to 4:00 PM on February 20 and 21, 2015.
The appeal on decisions would be made by the Chief Election Commissioner and Member Election Commission on February23 and 24.
The last date of withdrawal of the candidatures is February 25, 2015.
The candidates would be able to withdraw their nomination papers from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM while the final list of the candidates would also be issued the same day i.e., on February 25, 2015.
The polling would be held at building of the Balochistan Assembly from 09:00 AM to 04:00 PM on March 03, 2015.
It may be mentioned here that the election on 12 different category seats in Senate from the province is scheduled to be held on March 03, 2015.
The categories of seats on which elections to be held are included: seven general, two each of technocrats, women and one minority / non-Muslim.
The Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan, Syed Sultan Bayazeed has been appointed as the Returning Officer for the Senate elections in the province.
