“Say Good bye to cheating”: Highlights of walk & seminar against curse of cheating

QUETTA: The walk and seminar was organized by the Education Department, Government of Balochistan on Thursday.
The theme of the events was “say no to cheating in exam” and “good bye cheating”. The Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch was present there to lead the walk himself.
Also joined him in the cause was by the Provincial Ministers, senior bureaucrats, police officers, besides the people belonging to different walks of the life, civil society, teachers, parents and students.
The ministers were included the Provincial Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Minister for Information, Information Technology, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, Minister Planning and Development, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai and Advisor to Chief Minister for Education, Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech.
The Chief Secretary, Saifullah Chattha along with the administrative secretaries of different provincial government departments were also part of the rally.
The participants of the walk were carrying the placards and banners inscribed with the slogans against the cheating.
One of the banners inscribed the slogan: Naqal aqal ki mot hey (Cheating is the destroyer of intelligence).
The walk was commenced from the Government Degree Girls College, Quetta cantonment at around 11:00 AM.
It passed through the Jinnah Road and Hali Road to reach the Balochistan Boy Scouts Association’s headquarters where it was culminated.
On culmination of the walk, a seminar on the topic was held at the auditorium of the Boy Scouts Association the same noon.
The Chief Minister presided over the seminar.
Needless to mention here is that the event was part of the government’s initiatives against the curse of cheating in the Matriculation examinations scheduled to begin from February 18, 2015.
The students of different schools presented colourful skits and tableaus highlighting the importance of education.
The performance of the students was highly appreciated by those present there.
Addressing the seminar, the Chief Minister expressed his firm resolve to eliminate the menace of cheating in the examinations.
He said that his government has initiated bringing reforms in the education sector and particularly improving the quality of education in the province.
Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch also mentioned that the provincial government is going to launch “School Bharo” movement in the province.
The Provincial Minister for Home, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Advisor to Chief Minister for Education, Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech, Chief Secretary Saifullah Chattha and others also addressed the seminar.
All of them emphasized upon putting an end to the cheating in exams.
It may be mentioned here that similar events were also organized by the Education department in different other districts of the province, on special directives of Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch.
