Strike against change in Gwadar-Kashgar route

QUETT A Feb 13 (PPI): A shutter down strike was observed against change of Gwadar-Kashgar route here Friday.
Call for strike was hurled by Markazi Anjuman Tajiran and different political parties.
During strike all commercial centres, markets remained shut.
Administration made strict security measures during the strike and forces remained deputed at important rounds about and roads to meet any untoward incident.
A protest demonstration was also held in front of Press Club. Addressing protestors President Markazi Anjuman Tajiran Abdul Rahim Kakar, Chairman Syed Taj Agha and others said people were again becoming disappointed due to the inappropriate behaviour of Federal government with Balochistan. They said Gwadar-Kashgar Economic Corridor was sole ray of hope for people of Balochistan that people would get employments in large number besides hustle bustle of trade and commercial centre along the route. But Federal government all of a sudden changes this route and made people disappointed.
They thanked political parties of the province who observed shutter down on their appeal and making the demonstration successful.
We support every project of Balochistan which is in the interest of the people while would oppose such project which would not benefit the people.
They said businessmen suffered a lot due to worst situation in Balochistan. We were hopeful that owing to this route and policy of the government in office commercial sites along the route would rehabilitate.
We demand of the federal government to review change of route and it should not be changed or it would deprive people of Balochistan further.
They said we would not leave the people alone. If government did not change the route we in league with political parties would hold protest.
Shutter down strikes was also observed in Zhob, Loralai, Killa Saifullah, Chaman, Khuzdar, Mastung and other areas.
