QUETTA: The Secretary Livestock department, Muhammad Siddique Mandokhail has said that the annual Sibi Festival has immense importance for promotion of livestock in the province.
He was addressing a meeting of the officers of the Livestock department the other day.
The Secretary directed to the officers to take adequate steps for provision of necessary facilities to the livestock breeders and others participating in the Sibi Festival.
He stressed that all necessary facilities should be provided to make the Festival a great success. He said that in view of importance for livestock, the Festival is being organized in Sibi every year.
He said that the Festival provides an excellent opportunity to the livestock breeders to participate and bring the best breed of cattle in market.
Referring the issues of the livestock breeders, he said that it is responsibility of the department to resolve them. He also directed to the officers concerned to play their wholehearted role in this regard.
The Secretary also directed to them to arrange training sessions for the breeders during the Festival so as to provide them the necessary knowledge about breeding and other related issues.
Meanwhile, Divisional Director Livestock, Dr. Afzal Nodhani informed that the preparations of the Sibi Festival are continued at a fast pace.
He told that 35,000-40,000 animals of different types would be brought in the Festival. The participating livestock breeders and other concerned would be provided necessary facilities.
The effective arrangements for vaccination of the cattle bringing in the Festival for display as well as for sale and purchase.
The team of veterinary doctors would be formed for the purpose of vaccination, the Divisional Director Livestock maintained.
In addition to the cattle market, the agricultural and industrial stalls would also be set up in the Festival, he mentioned.
All the preparations are being given final shape to make the Festival a great success, Dr. Afzal concluded.
