Transporters ought to provide best facilities to passengers: PTA 20 wagons of Hanna route challaned as inspection of local transport continues

QUETTA: The Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail has asked the transporters to provide best possible facilities to the passengers in their respective transport, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
He also directed them not to overcharge the fare from the passengers.
This directive, he issued during inspection of the transport plying on the Hanna route, their fitness and the fares being charged from the passengers, etc. here the other day.
The Secretary PTA was flanked by the Secretary Regional Transport Authority, Amanullah Khan Panezai, Khan Muhammad Muhammad Hassani, officials of the Traffic police and other concerned departments.
The team led by Secretary PTA challaned some 20 wagons of the Hanna route besides issuing warning to five others on the charges of over loading and fitness issue.
During the inspection, the extra fare charged by six wagons from the passengers was also got returned.
The Secretary PTA said that the government would not be tolerating any negligence in provision of basic facilities to the passengers.
If the transporters did not mend their way and continued to violate the government directives in this regard, the route permits of their vehicles would be cancelled, he warned further.
Their vehicles would be impounded if the transporters did not take steps for provision of facilities, he maintained.
The Secretary PTA mentioned that over 50 vehicles have so far been impounded during the inspection.
He on the occasion warned that the action would remain continued against the local transport not improving their condition, on directives of the Balochistan High Court and the Provincial Minister for Transport.
He also warned that if the local transporters did not improve condition of their transport, their route permits would be cancelled impounding them.
