Health Dept allocates Rs. 1 million each for DHQ Hospitals

QUETTA: The Balochistan Health Department has allocated Rs. 1 million for provision of health facilities in all the district headquarter hospitals of the province.
According to an official hand out issued here, the amount would be spent particularly for provision of facilities of operation theatre and gynecology in the hospitals so that the people of the remote areas may have health facilities at their doorstep and they may not suffer due to lack of them.
The initiative has particularly been taken in backdrop of the high maternal mortality rate (MMR) during the pregnancy in the province. So, the government took the issue serious and decided to take certain measures to provide necessary relief to the people and particularly to the women.
It may be mentioned here that the provincial government had also posted senior and specialist doctors in the tehsil and district headquarter hospitals of the province.
