QUETTA: All is set for the annual examinations of Matriculation for year commencing under the arrangements of Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) from today (Wednesday) all over the province including Quetta.
The Chairman BISE Quetta, Professor Saadullah Tokhai told the media that all the necessary arrangements have been made for the Matric examinations.
According to him, over 94,000 candidates are going to appear in the Matric (9th and 10th classes) examinations.
As many as 279 examination centers have been established for the examinations all over the province with maximum centers set up in Quetta, he maintained.
He said that effective measures have been adopted to prevent cheating and use of other unfair means in the Matric examinations.
The steps are included: imposition of section 144 in the examination centers during the Matric examinations, ban on presence of any unauthorized person within the 100 meter distance of the examination centers; thorough search of the students by the examination supervisors; ban on carrying of different materials including books, copies, mobile, electronic dictionary or another material to the examination centers.
In case of recovery of any such thing or material, legal action would be taken against the guilty, the sources said.
Similarly, the shops of photo state in surrounding areas of the examination centers would remain closed from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM as well as from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM during the examinations.
Any person including the student, exam and other administrative staff found violating the instructions and irregularity in this regard would be dealt with sternly. Legal action would be taken against the CRPC Section 188, an official notification mentioned in this regard.
Moreover, as far the security arrangements, at least five police or levies personnel would be deployed on security of the examination centers.
The surveillance cameras would also be installed for supervision of the examination centers. In addition to that, different teams to be constituted at the provincial and district level would also monitor the exam centers while on the other hand, the special prizes would be given to the examination centers demonstrating excellent performance at the divisional level.
Moreover, the provincial government has decided to place administrative secretaries of the provincial government department for monitoring of the annual examinations of Matriculation in all the districts.
According to an official hand out issued here, the decision to the effect of placement of the secretaries has been made on directives of Chief Minister Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch to ensure compliance of the government’s resolve against cheating and use of other unfair means in the examinations.
