Section 144 imposed: Foolproof security to be ensured for Sibi Festival

QUETTA: The Provincial Home and Tribal Affairs department has imposed a ban on carrying of all kinds of fire arms and other weapons as well as political gathering and processions in the jurisdiction of Sibi district.
According to an official notification issued here by the Home and Tribal Affairs department (Judicial Section), the ban has been imposed under Section 144 in order to ensure foolproof security and maintaining law and order situation during the annual Sibi Festival.
It may be mentioned here that Sibi Festival is scheduled to start on February 20, 2015.
All the necessary arrangements have already been made for the annual Festival that would feature different colorful programmes besides the horse and cattle show.
According to Divisional Director Livestock, Dr. Afzal Nodhani, preparations of the Sibi Festival are continued at a fast pace.
He told that 35,000-40,000 animals of different types would be brought in the Festival. The participating livestock breeders and other concerned would be provided necessary facilities.
The effective arrangements for vaccination of the cattle bringing in the Festival for display as well as for sale and purchase.
The team of veterinary doctors would be formed for the purpose of vaccination, the Divisional Director Livestock maintained.
In addition to the cattle market, the agricultural and industrial stalls would also be set up in the Festival, he mentioned.
All the preparations are being given final shape to make the Festival a great success, Dr. Afzal concluded.
