QUETTA: The Zamindar Action Committee (ZAC) Balochistan has announced to launch protest movement against severe electricity crisis in interior province.
This was announced by the acting Chairman of ZAC, Naseer Ahmed Shahwani while addressing a press conference here at the Quetta Press Club the other day.
Other office bearers of the ZAC Balochistan were also present on the occasion.
Naseer Shahwani maintained that the zamindars of the province would observe wheel jam strike on all the important highways on February 23, 2015. Moreover, if the issue was not resolved even then, we would hold a long march towards Islamabad on February 26, 2015.
The zamindars would also stage a sit-in in front of the parliament House after reaching Islamabad, the Chairman ZAC Balochistan asserted.
He said that the zamindars are forced to lodge protest because of the lingering electricity load shedding crisis in the interior province.
He pointed out that the electricity is being supplied only for one hour a day to the agriculture feeders in the interior Balochistan causing colossal losses to the agriculture sector. The electricity crisis has caused loss of billions of rupees to the zamindars of the province, he charged.
Naseer Shahwani regretfully pointed out that we wanted to meet Prime Minister, Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif during his visit of Quetta, but it could not happen, he maintained.
