Prevention of cheating in exams: Secretary Education visits various Exam centers to reviews arrangements

QUETTA: The Provincial Secretary for Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar visited examination centers established in different schools of Quetta, on Thursday.
Director Schools, District Education Officer Quetta and other concerned senior officials were also accompanied with him.
The examination centers, the Secretary Education visited were established in the Islamia College, Islamia High School, Government High School Sanatorium, Brewery road.
He reviewed the steps taken for prevention of cheating and other unfair means in the annual examinations of Matriculation.
He on the occasion mentioned that the strict implementation is being made on directives of the Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch for putting an end to the cheating in the examinations.
He warned to the superintendents and other supervisory staff to discharge their duties well in the examinations removing the flaws as pointed out by him during inspection.
He said that stern action would be taken against those found negligent during the duty.
Meanwhile, the sources of the Provincial Secondary Education department told that the secretaries of different other provincial government departments as well as the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners would also paying surprise visit to the examination centers in the respective areas of posting.
The government has decided to take stern action against the concerned superintendents and supervisory staff of the examination centers where students were found indulged in committing cheating or using other unfair means in the examinations.
It may be mentioned here that the Matric annual examinations were commenced all over the province including Quetta on Wednesday last.
According to the Chairman BISE Quetta, Professor Saadullah Tokhai, all the necessary arrangements have been made for the Matric examinations.
According to him, over 94,000 candidates are going to appear in the Matric (9th and 10th classes) examinations.
As many as 279 examination centers have been established for the examinations all over the province with maximum centers set up in Quetta, he maintained.
He said that effective measures have been adopted to prevent cheating and use of other unfair means in the Matric examinations.
The steps are included: imposition of section 144 in the examination centers during the Matric examinations, ban on presence of any unauthorized person within the 100 meter distance of the examination centers; thorough search of the students by the examination supervisors; ban on carrying of different materials including books, copies, mobile, electronic dictionary or another material to the examination centers.
In case of recovery of any such thing or material, legal action would be taken against the guilty, the sources said.
