QUETTA: The Awami National Party (ANP) Balochistan has announced its support to the protest movement being launched by the Zamindar Action Committee against the lingering power crisis in the interior province.
According to a press release issued here from the Bacha Khan Markaz, the ANP regretfully pointed out that the power crisis has affected badly the agriculture sector in the province.
It may be mentioned here that Zamindar Action Committee had announced to block all the main highways in the province on February 23 as a mark of protest against the serious electricity crisis in the province.
Addressing a presser, the ZAC’s acting Chairman, Naseer Shahwani had announced that if the issue was not resolved even then, the zamindars would hold a long march towards Islamabad on February 26, 2015.
The zamindars would also stage a sit-in in front of the parliament House after reaching Islamabad, Shahwani had asserted.
He said that the zamindars are forced to lodge protest because of the lingering electricity load shedding crisis in the interior province.
He had pointed out that the electricity is being supplied only for one hour a day to the agriculture feeders in the interior Balochistan causing colossal losses to the agriculture sector. The electricity crisis has caused loss of billions of rupees to the zamindars of the province, he charged.
