QUETTA Feb 23 (PPI): Federation is not very careful about resources to Balochistan. Eighteenth amendment is big change in behaviours. Baloch are not angry. They should have to face realities instead of slogans.
These views were expressed by Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch while addressing participants of Mid Career Management Course and answering their questions here Monday.
Balochistan Chief Secretary Saifullah Chatha, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development, Secretary Home, Secretary S&GAD and Secretary Finance were also present.
Chief Minister said our region is facing disputes. Province is confronted with challenges such as religious extremism, tribal disputes and Baloch insurgency. We are also facing difficulties and have opportunities to improve standard of life of people. Provincial government was making comprehensive planning for political stability and sustainable economic development in Balochistan. He said when we got government police department was completely paralysed. Abduction for ransom, road robberies and target killings had become routine. Provincial government cleansed police of politics and sifarish to eliminate crimes and making police department active. More than 700 appointments have been made in police on purely on merit. Appointments of police and administration officers were also being made on merit which was given better results. There has been improvement in law and order situation during the past one and half years.
He said no human being is able or incompetent by birth. It is opportunities which made them capable.
He said provincial government ha s paid special attention on education sector. Education budget has been raised to 26 percent from 4 percent. Massive reforms process was underway in Education department for end to cheating culture, attendance of teachers. More than 4500 teachers would be appointed through NTS. Provincial government was taking tough and difficult decisions for improving education. Reforms are being brought to the Public Service commission.
To provide health facilities to common man health budget has been increased 400 times and recently 148 doctors have been posted to their respective districts from Quetta. Transfer orders were strictly implemented. To make protective immunization drive effective a separate secretary would be posted.
He said concrete measures were being made to cleanse dot of corruption from Balochistan. Its proof is survey reports of national and international organisations.
He said with the cooperation of Centre, with completion of D I Khan-Loralai, Dadu-Khuzdar transmission lines province was getting 600 mega watts of electricity additionally. These projects were pending for last 15 years.
He said prime minister has assured that Balochistan would great beneficiary of Economic Corridor.
