School Welcome Campaign: 0.6 million new children to be admitted in schools: Kakar

QUETTA: The Secretary Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Khan Kakar has announced that the government has decided to launch Welcome School Programme from start of new academic year in the province.
Under the campaign, around 0.6 million would be admitted in the schools during the current year, the Secretary Education said while addressing the annual launch of a report on education by a non-governmental organization at the Balochistan Boy Scouts Association’s headquarter the other day.
The member Provincial Assembly, Ms. Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani, eminent economist and economic advisor to the Chief Minister, Dr. Qaiser Bangali, Director Education also addressed the ceremony.
The Secretary Education said that a sapling (plant) would be planted in the name of each and every new child to be admitted in the schools during the Welcome School Campaign.
The newly admitted children would also be provided school uniforms, bags and toys upon their admission in the schools, he said.
He said that the government is taking steps for development and promotion of education sector in the province.
He said that it would not be fair to bring Balochistan from education point of view in competition of other provinces.
The steps being taken for prevention of cheating and use of other unfair means in examinations are yielding positive results, the Secretary Secondary Education mentioned with contentment, he said.
He also said that secretaries of different provincial government departments are personally monitoring the arrangements in this regard.
Ms. Durrani, Dr. Bangali and other speakers also spoke at length about improvement in education.
They appreciated the initiatives being taken by the provincial government in this regard. They said that it is appreciable to take effective steps for prevention of cheating and other unfair means in the examinations.
