QUETTA Feb 25 (PPI): Governance Support Programme is multi donor project working to increase credibility of various departments and provides cooperation to government institutions
This was stated by Coordinator Governance support Programme Muhammad Zaman Khan while addressing a workshop organised by Governance Support Project in collaboration with Planning and Development Department on preparation of budget 2015-16 at SBK Women University here Wednesday
It is first occasion hosted by Women University in which consultation was held with women from various walks of life. Women councilors, teachers, lawyers, civil society, National and international NGOs, girl students and others attended.
Zaman Khan said that people particularly women and other stake holders? partition at the preparation phase of budget increases sense of ownership. It also promotes transparency. He said such workshops help government to analyse people?s opinion. Governance Support project would organise such workshops in all the divisions of the province to end sense of deprivation among women and their opinion and priorities would be include in coming budget.
Chief Federal projects Planning and Development Arif Hussain shah, Registrar Women University Mohtarma Naheeda Haq also spoke on the occasion. She said it is for the first time in history of Pakistan particularly Balochistan in which consultation with women for setting priorities in the budget were underway. It is an honour for Women University such programme was organised and it was held at our university.
