Met Office predicts more winter rains with snowfall from Sunday to Tuesday

QUETTA Feb 27 (PPI): Met Office has said that another westerly wave is likely to enter Pakistan through Balochistan on Saturday (night) and expected to grip the upper parts of the country from Sunday (evening/night).
Under the influence of this weather system thunderstorm rain with snowfall over the hills is also expected at isolated places in north Balochistan (Quetta and Zhob divisions), south Punjab (Bahawalpur, Multan & D. G. Khan divisions), KP (Peshawar, Kohat, D I Khan & Bannu divisions) and upper Sindh (Sukkur division) on Saturday/Sunday.
Met Office further elaborated that scattered rain with snowfall over the hills is expected in upper Punjab, lower (Balochistan & Sindh), upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and upper Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) while at isolated places in north Balochistan, South Punjab and upper Sindh during Saturday (night) to Tuesday.
Met Office informed that thunderstorm rain (snowfall over the hills) with occasional hail storm is expected at scattered places in lower parts of the country (Makran, Kalat, Karachi, Hyderabad and Mirpurkhas divisions) from Saturday (night) to Monday (morning) while in upper parts of the country including Islamabad (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand, Mardan and Hazara divisions), upper FATA (Bajaur, Mohmand, Kurram, Orakzai & Khyber agencies), GB and Kashmir from Sunday (night) to Tuesday.
It was further informed that the system may produce scattered thunderstorm with isolated heavy to very heavy falls accompanied with occasional hailing in (Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Gujranwala) divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during Sunday (night) to Monday.
The possibility of landslides in the Kashmir and adjoining areas of Baltistan cannot be ruled out during the period.
