QUETTA Feb 27 (PPI): Pakistan People?s Party is party of masses. It has fought against five dictators. It has always been waging democratic struggle.
This was stated by President PPP Balochistan Muhammad Sadiq Umrani while addressing a gathering in Hanna on the outskirts Friday afternoon.
Veteran PPP leader Ashraf Kakar, former provincial President Jaffar George, PPP Secretary Information Nadeem Waqas and others were also present.
At the gathering JUI leader Samiullah and his large number of supporters announced to join PPP after resigning from JUI.
He said enemies of PPP desired it should end. But poor and suppressed people are its real heirs who have always been exploited. People experienced all the parties but their problems multiplied and there was no reduction therein.
He said former President Asif Ali Zardari owned Rupees 17 billion debt of previous Balochistan government. Under the 18 th amendment Balochistan was receiving billions of Rupees. But in the absence of correct planning problems could not minimize. There is educational backwardness and no facilities in health sector. Government had stated to improve electricity system in six months now it speaks of improving it in six years. He said had our leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto not made agreement of IPPs, there had not been even single bulb lighting. As against this whatever promises PPP made it fulfilled them.
Sadiq Umrani said State should be powerful. Under a conspiracy people are being divided in Balochistan in the name of religion and nationalism. We are followers of one Allah and one Rasool. We must keep that in view. Why people killed on the basis of religion. He aid innocent children were martyred at the Army Public School. Former Prime Minister Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto came to Pakistan and she was murdered along with 180 others.
He said time has come we should unveil such people, unveil terrorists and establish peace in the country.
We are also trying no one could commit dacoity on the rights of people. We would go door to door. It was mission of Benazir Bhutto and we would further it.
While welcoming Samiullah Kakar into party folds he asked him to setup strong unit in Hanna area and start membership campaign.
Earlier President PPP Quetta division Agha Nasir, District President Hafeez Mengal, Bari Ali and others also spoke. They congratulated Samiullah on joining PPP.
Samiullah Kakar said he was pleased he had honour of joining the party. He also enumerated problems of the area.
