Monitoring of doctors to be made thru DCs, public representatives

QUETTA: The Government of Balochistan has decided to engage the deputy commissioners as well as the chairmen of all the district councils, Metropolitan Corporations and Municipal Corporations to monitor regularly attendance of the doctors recently posted and transferred in the hospitals as well as other health establishments in the province.
The necessary directives have also been issued to them in this regard.
According to an official notification issued here, it has also been directed to review that whether doctors have reported at their respective places of posting.
In case of the doctors’ absence from their duty places, they have been asked to inform immediately to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the offices of the Provincial Health Minister and Provincial Secretary for Health.
It may be mentioned here that a large scale transfer and posting of the doctors including senior and specialist ones had been made recently in different districts of the province.
Mostly the doctors attached with the Sandeman Provincial Headquarter Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex Hospital in Quetta had been transferred and posted in different district headquarter and tehsil headquarter hospitals particularly in the remote areas. Needless to mention is that the remote district hospitals were awaiting posting of senior doctors. The initiative of the present government would go a long way in providing first class medical facilities to the masses at their door step.
