Headway on NAP reviewed

QUETTA Feb 28 (PPI): A military court has been established in Balochistan and53 cases would be sent to the court for hearing. These cases have been sent to federal government for approval.
These views were expressed by Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani while presiding over a high level meeting here Saturday. Meeting reviewed progress on National Action Plan (NAP).
Representatives of concerned quarters and departments apprised the meeting of headway on various matters.
Meeting vowed that NAP would be implemented according to its spirit for the elimination of terrorism from the province. Further effective coordination among various concerned was also agreed.
Home Secretary said regional office of NACTA was being established in the province and summary has been sent to federal government for setting up Counter Terrorism force consisting of 2000 officials.
He said amendment bill has been prepared for improving criminal justice system and necessary amendment. It would soon be submitted to provincial assembly for approval.
Matters relating to registration of madaris were also considered and meeting was informed that according to preliminary survey total number of madaris in Balochistan stands at 1689. Of these 1190 are registered while remaining are unregistered. One lakh 67 thousand and 735 students are studying at these madaris and five thousand are foreigners.
Meeting decided to take measures for religious and sectarianism harmony and cooperation of Ulema and influential circles would be sought for it.
