Inquiry Committee starts investigation into Duki coalmine

QUETTA: The inquiry committee has started investigation into the tragic incident of Duki coal mine, which had claimed lives of eight coal mine workers on February 19, 2015.
It may be mentioned here that provincial government had constituted the inquiry committee.
According to an official hand out issued here by the department of Mines and Mineral Development, the Assistant Professor Government College of Technology, Quetta, Mumtaz Ahmed would act as Chairman of the Inquiry Committee.
The members of the Committee are included: Mine Manager Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) Sorenj, Asfandyar and Divisional Inspector of Mines, Muhammad Atif.
Meanwhile, the government had also ordered to close the coal mine until the inquiry is completed so that the evidences are not wasted.
