SWD decides to observe anti-narcotics week for awareness

QUETTA: The Social Welfare Department has decided to observe anti-narcotics week for creating awareness among the general public about narcotics and social evils in the province.
The divisional level activities would be held during the week.
The observance of the week is part of a special awareness campaign being launched for creating necessary awareness among the general public against narcotics and other social evils.
The decision to this effect was made during a meeting of the concerned officers and representatives of non-governmental organizations working for prevention of the narcotics and other social evils, the other day.
The concerned NGOs would take wholehearted part in the activities to be carried out during the week.
Meanwhile, speaking on the occasion, the Secretary SWD, Bilal Jamali stressed the need to make combined efforts for prevention of the narcotics and other social evils.
The Secretary SWD said that the narcotics and other social evils have destroyed the beauty of the society and social values.
The social issues are causing sense of insecurity, he noted with concern and adding he stressed that it is our collective responsibility to work and strive against the narcotics curse.
The social organizations and all segments of the society in addition to the provincial government should play their wholehearted role in eradiation of the menace of narcotics in the province so as to rid of it, adding he stressed further.
