Ceremony marking World Wildlife Day held

QUETTA: A ceremony was held under the auspices of the Youth Club Quetta and Balochistan Junior Sports Association in connection with the World Wildlife Day here the other day.
The patron of the Youth Club, Rauf Atta Advocate was the chief guest and Atta Muhammad Kakar presided over the ceremony.
Also present on the occasion were Manzoor Ahmed Kakar, Muhammad Sadiq Khilji and Rasheed Khan Noorzai.
Addressing the ceremony, Rauf Atta stressed the need to pay special attention towards preservation of the wildlife in the province.
He said that hunting of the wildlife is causing damages to the biodiversity. He stressed that we stressed the need to work together for protection of the wildlife.
Atta Muhammad Kakar on the occasion said that forests and wildlife are interlinked. Both must be preserved together, he stressed further.
Strict laws should be framed and implemented in this regard, he maintained.
He regretfully pointed out that that certain elements are involved in the deforestation. The government must take action against the timber mafia, he demanded. He also demanded of the government to ban hunting of the rare birds in the province.
