QUETTA: A meeting of the Secretaries Committee was held with Chief Secretary Balochistan, Saifullah Chattha in the chair the other day.
The meeting reviewed different matters pertaining to launching of the Prime Minister’s Youth Scheme, transparency in recruitments in different provincial government departments, stoppage of wastage of development funds, besides bringing improvement in enforcement of taxes and non-tax wages.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary mentioned that the Prime Minister’s Youth Scheme is being launched, under which 6,000-7,000 students completing 16 years; education would be recruited in different departments as internee. Each and every student would be paid Rs. 12,000 stipend, he maintained.
The Chief Secretary also said that it has been the endeavour of the provincial government to increase the number of students up to 10,000.
He on the occasion urged the high ups of the departments particularly the Education and Health to accommodate these internees in their respective departments so that they may also benefit from the talented youth, adding he stressed.
The Chief Secretary on the occasion also directed to process of recruitments in the departments transparent.
This is necessary that the talented youth are not deprived of their due right in jobs, he maintained.
He also stressed that the departments which have completed the process of tests and interviews should issue notification of appointments as soon as possible. While those departments which have not yet issued schedule of the tests should also conduct the tests and interviews immediately, he directed further.
This would help remove the resentment prevailing among the youth and they would find job opportunities, he believed.
Chattha also directed to the participants of meeting to ensure transparency in the recruitments as no leniency and negligence would be tolerated whatsoever.
The Chief Secretary also directed to ensure timely completion of development projects in the province.
He said special steps must be taken to stop wastage of funds and the public exchequer.
No compromise would be made on quality of work on the projects, he asserted.
Referring the taxes ratio, the Chief Secretary directed to improve the same achieving the targets set for various departments.
This is necessary for the province to bring improvement in the provincial receipts, he maintained.
