Eight new faces make way into Senate from Balochistan

QUETTA: As many as eight candidates, who were elected in the Senate elections from Balochistan the other day, have made their way into the Upper House for the first time.
They are included three belonging to Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) and two each hailing from the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), National Party and and one each from Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M).
The news faces in the Senate would be PkMAP’s Muhammad Usman Khan and Sardar Azam Khan (elected on the general seats) and Ms. Gul Bashara (elected on women’s seat); PML-N’s Mir Naimatullah Zehri and Engineer Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani (elected on general and technocrats / ulema seats respectively); National Party’s Mir Kabir Ahmed and Dr. Ashok Kumar (elected on technocrats / ulema and minority seats).
Other four candidates including Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo of National Party, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri of JUI-F, Ms. Kalsoom Parveen of PML-N and Independent candidate, Mir Muhammad Yousaf Badini.
It may be mentioned here that the polling was held for 12 seats of the Senate from Balochistan on Thursday.
All the 65 members of the Provincial Assembly had casted their votes in the Senate elections.
