Several more vehicles challaned: Secretary PTA warns stern action against fleecing transporters

QUETTA: Secretary Provincial Transport Authority (PTA), Abdul Khaliq Mandokhail has once again warned the fleecing transporters not to overcharge fare from the passengers, otherwise stern action would be taken against them.
He has also directed to the vehicle owners to carry with them the permit and other necessary documents, or else they should be ready to face the action. Their vehicles would be impounded on violation of the directives in this regard, maintained the Secretary PTA during inspection of the vehicles in different parts of the city. He was also flanked by the Secretary Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Amanullah Khan Panezai and other concerned officials of the Traffic Police and Motor vehicle examiner.
During the checking, eleven buses and wagons were challaned. Moreover, seven vehicles were issues warning on violation of the directives.
The Secretary PTA mentioned that the drivers and owners of public transport have been issued directives time and again for following the official fare list besides carrying the necessary documents with them while moving on the roads so that they may not face any problem and inconvenience during the checking.
He said that the vehicles of those transporters and drivers not carrying their valid documents would be impounded.
He also asked them to refrain from overcharging the fare.
Meanwhile, according to an official hand out issued here by the Commissioner / Chairman Regional Transport Authority, Sibi Division, the route permits of the passenger vehicles moving from Sibi to other parts of the country and those did not get them (permits) renewed, have been cancelled with immediate effect.
It mentioned that the renewal of the permits was not made despite issuance of the notices to the concerned owners repeatedly even.
