Jama’at-e-Islami Women Wing celebrates IWD

QUETTA: The Jama’at-e-Islami’s Women Wing celebrated the International Women Day (IWD) in Quetta like other organizations and the government, the other day.
A ceremony was arranged to mark the Women Day in Quetta.
The office bearers and members of the JI’s Women Wing participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering, Ms. Nighat, Aneeqa and others spoke at length about the vital role of women in formation of healthy society.
They stressed that we need to educate our girls from Islamic point of view so that they are able to play their role in upbringing of their children better.
It is very necessary for us to tell our women about the Islamic teachings and values as well, they maintained.
Meanwhile, a seminar marking the IWD was held under the auspices of Kuchlak Welfare Society.
Chairman of the Society, Malik Rasheed Kakar was the chief guest. Those who addressed the seminar besides him was by the Board members of the society, Ms. Ghazala Raza, Ms. Shahnaz Dar and others.
They highlighted importance of the IWD and said that it is being observed to recognize their role in the society.
They said that the women are playing vital role in development of the province, rather they are proving their mettle in different sectors.
Representation and active participation of women in the provincial as well as national assemblies, Senate and the local bodies institutions is a good omen, and one can hope that it would usher a healthy change in the society, they believed.
They stressed the need to provide maximum opportunities to the women for progress so that they are able to play their effective role in the socio-economic development of the province, they maintained.
The speakers on the occasion demanded increase in job quota for women in the province as has been done by the Punjab government.
It may be mentioned here that the IWD was celebrated all over the world and so in the country and Balochistan the other day.
The theme of the IWD for the year 2015 is “Making it happenâ€.
