Customs seize Iranian diesel

QUETTA(PPI): In pursuance of authentic information to the effect that huge quantity of Iranian origin Diesel would be smuggled to Afghanistan through unfrequented routes, Zahoor Akhter Raja, Collector Model Customs Collectorate, Quetta, constituted a special team consisting the staff of Custom Mobile Squad, headed by the Assistant Collector (Preventive), who apprehended five oil tankers carrying 150,000 liters (approx :) of smuggled Iranian diesel near Ghazaband, with the help of Frontier Corps (Ghazaband Scouts) yesterday. The said five tankers and smuggled Iranian Diesel were seized under the provisions of the Customs Act, 1969. Value of the seized diesel is Rs. 12.15 million (Approx :).
Moreover, during the last three weeks, the Customs Staff posted in the Mobile Squads and Custom Check Post, Baleli jointly seized 03 Non Duty Paid vehicles worth Rs. 5.80 million and a truck loaded with smuggled Iron & steel scrap worth Rs. 3.50 million
On the directions of Collector of Customs, MCC, Quetta, the campaign against the prevention of smuggling, particularly Iranian Diesel and smuggled Scrap, continues with full vigor in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies.
