USTA MUHAMMAD(PPI): Allegations of horse-trading against PML-N members during Senate elections are baseless.
This was stated by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Jan Muhammad Jamali while speaking to Newsmen.
He strongly criticized for nomination of senators on personal likes and dislikes instead of provincial and federal parliamentary boards and said principally every member should have right of interview but it is pity of state party did not constitute appellate board and all the decisions were taken unilaterally. Had nomination of senators made according to provincial and federal selection board recommendations and on merit there would not had been complaints in the party.
Jan Jamali termed nomination of Raza Rabbani as Chairman Senate a good move and said consensus over his name would be fine example for democracy.
He said in the wake of 18 th amendment devolution of powers to the provinces was becoming doubtful. Federation has started taking U turn over some points of the said amendment. However Raza Rabbani can take stand on 18 that amendment being Chairman Senate because he is creator of this amendment and his stand would be clear in this regard.
He again proposed direct elections for Senate to avoid alleged purchase of votes. He said after election as Chairman Senate, Raza Rabbani would be invited to visit Balochistan. His help would be sought to remove flaws over provincial autonomy in the light of 18 the amendment.
He said soon Balochistan Muslim league would be active. Known tribal elders, senior politicians and elected representatives are included in the party. Their names would be announced at the next meeting of the party. It would be popular party in future.
