QUETTA: Commissioner Quetta, Kambar Dashti chaired the meeting to review the preparations and arrangements for the Pakistan Day celebrations in the provincial metropolis.
The Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Dawood Khan Khilji, SSP Operation, Director Sports, as well as representatives of the Southern Command and Frontier Corps and senior officials of different departments and agencies were in attendance at the meeting.
The meeting decided to organize the sports and other healthy activities in Ayub Stadium, Sadiq Shaheed football ground, Government Girls High School, Railway Hockey Ground and Hanna lake.
Prizes and certificates would be given to the players demonstrating outstanding performance in the sports competitions.
Different committees were also formed to make necessary arrangements in the Ayub Stadium. A control room would also be set up to monitor the preparations and other necessary arrangements in connection with the Pak Day activities.
The officials of different concerned departments would be available at the control room, it was decided further in the meeting.
Moreover, it was informed that the officials of the Quetta Metropolitan Corporation and Sports department have started work for cleanliness and lighting arrangements in the Ayub Stadium.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner along with other concerned officials also visited the Ayub Stadium to do inspection of different sites for different sports events and activities to be arranged in connection with the Pakistan Day.
While on the other hand, a review meeting was held in connection with arrangements of the colourful celebrations of the Pakistan Day, at the Askari Park.
The Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Dawood Khilji presided over the meeting, which was attended by 41 Div, FC’s Ghaza Band scouts, Capital City Police Officer, DIG Special Branch, SSP Traffic, and the representatives of different departments including Mines, Health, Public Relations Directorate, Agriculture, Fisheries, Culture, Education, Forests, Environment, Public Health Engineering, Small Industries, Civil Defence, Anti Narcotics Force and Anjuman Tajran Balochistan.
Assistant Commissioners Quetta city and Quetta Sadar were also in attendance.
The meeting decided that different colourful events would also be arranged marking the celebrations of Pak Day in Askari Park like the past.
There would be more fun for the children and women in the Park, it was informed to the meeting.
The stalls of different items would also be set up by the governmental departments and non-governmental organizations on the occasion.
Different committees were formed in the meeting to look after various matters. The Deputy Commissioner would himself monitor the arrangements.
The meeting also decided to maintain a close coordination among different participating departments and organizations.
