QUETTA: The World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) is being observed today (Sunday) in Quetta as elsewhere in the country and the world.
Different activities are being arranged in the metropolis and other parts of the country marking the Consumers’ rights day.
The speakers would be highlighting importance of the day and rights of consumers.
It may be mentioned here that the day is observed on 15 March every year as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights.
The Consumer International (CI) has decided to make helping consumers choose healthy diets the theme of WCRD 2015 in the backdrop that the unhealthy diets are linked to four of the ten biggest causes of death worldwide: overweight and obesity, high blood pressure, high blood glucose and high cholesterol. Obesity alone is estimated to cost US$2 trillion per year.
So, it is really the time for the world to wake up to the price of unhealthy diets.
