QUETTA: The provincial Health Department has decided to issue show cause notice to the doctors, who were transferred from Quetta last month but failed to join their duties at their respective places of duty.
The sources of the Department told that as many as 132 doctors including the senior ones had been transferred from Quetta to different government hospitals in the districts in second week of last month (February 2015).
Out of them, 72 doctors joined duty at their respective duty places, but 60 others did not resume the duty yet. On that, the Health Department decided to serve them the show-cause notice on their failure in resumption of duty at the places of their postings, the sources maintained.
If even then, the doctors did not comply with the government’s directives, rather more stern action would be taken against them under the given government’s rules.
It may be mentioned here that the Provincial Health Department has issued final warning to the doctors, who had been transferred from Quetta and posted in different district headquarter hospitals of the province, to ensure their attendance at their respective places of posting.
Otherwise, it was warned that strict action would be taken against the doctors not joining their duties under the relevant Act 2011 despite the notification of their transfer and posting that had been issued on February 12, 2015 by the Health Department.
