QUETTA: Those creating hurdles in smooth polio immunization campaign would be dealt with harshly. This was warned by the Deputy Commissioner Shirani district, Muhammad Azeem Kakar while chairing a meeting on the polio at his office the other day.
He mentioned that polio is a fatal disease, which could be eradicated only through effective immunization, so we have to work together in this regard so as to save our future generations from the disease.
The DC urged the civil society and other segments of the society to play their wholehearted role in polio eradication.
The overall situation of polio and the preventive measures were also reviewed during the meeting.
Earlier, a meeting was also held to review the forthcoming anti-Polio campaign in Khuzdar district the other day.
The Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Abdul Waheed Shah presided over the meeting.
Also present on the occasion were the District Health Officer, Khuzdar, Dr. Muhammad Anar Reki, Vice Chairman of Khuzdar Municipal Corporation, Abdul Hameed Baloch and other concerned.
Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that it is our national responsibility to strive for eradication of polio as it would be done only through sincere efforts.
He mentioned that the next round of the polio immunization campaign would be launched from March 16.
Earlier, the DHO Khuzdar informed the meeting that over 1,18,000 children below five years of age would be administered the anti-polio drops during the three-day immunization campaign.
He on the occasion urged to engage the elected representatives of the local governments in the campaign so as to make it success.
