Rains, snowfall in Balochistan

QUETTA(PPI): Major parts of Balochistan including Quetta valley are in the grip of rains for the last two days while mountains top around Quetta valley, Kalat, Ziarat, Sanjavi, Khanozai and adjoining areas also received snowfall. Quetta received 25 mm of rains during the past 24 hours. Rains and snow made the weather cold.
According to details widespread rains have gripped Quetta Valley, Pishin, Chaman, Dalbandin, Barkhan, Khuzdar, Sibi, Kalat, Lasbella, Panjgur and other areas. In Chaman there was thunder rain. Rains caused damage to several kutcha houses.
Rains in Quetta valley continued till this afternoon and so far 25 millimetres of rains have been recorded. Mountain tops around Valley were covered with thick layers of snow. Reports of snowfall in Ziarat, Sajnavi, Khanozai, Kalat, Choter, Bata Ter, Tandawani, Wich Wani, Poi Sharif and adjoining areas have also been received.
Rain water turned roads into rivers and lakes while dirty drain and gutters water was flowing on the roads creating problems for the people.
Reports of intermittent rains in Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Sohbatpur, Jhal Magsi, Dera Bugti, Khuzdar, Sibi, Brkhan, Dalbandin, Kalat, Lasebella, Panjgur and other areas have also been received. Khuzdar received 18 mm of rains, Dalbandin 7 mm, Panjgur 3, Lasbella, Barkhan, Sibi 2 millimetres of rains.
Due to heavy rains nullah and streams were flooded and contact roads were dislocated.
Minimum temperature recorded in Quetta Sturday was 4.5 Celsius and maximum 6.5 Celsius.
Met office has forecast hazy and cloudy weather with chances of light rain and drizzle during the coming 24 hours.
