Protection of minorities to be ensured, assures Home Minister

QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Home, Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has categorically stated that all available resources are being mobilized for protection of the minorities living in the province.
Talking to the media, he said that it is condemnable to attack the churches in Lahore and asserted that the terrorist elements could not succeed in their nefarious designs.
The Home Minister said that the rights of minorities are guaranteed in the country’s constitution. Their rights are also clear in our religion, he maintained.
He said that the minorities are part of the country and said that loss of human lives in the suicide attack on Lahore churches is sorrowful. He said that the attack is strongly condemnable. Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti also said that practical steps are being taken for protection of life and property of the general public and so of minorities in the province.
He asked the minorities to convey their concerns and fears if any to the government so as to remove them.
We would be making necessary security arrangements in this regard and would not be leaving the minorities in isolation as well, he added.
It may be mentioned here that over 20 persons were killed in suicide attacks in Lahore on Sunday last.
