QUETTA: The provincial government has established the Balochistan Education Endowment Fund (BEEF) in order to promote education encouraging the talented and deserving students in the province.
According to the decision made in a meeting of the Board of Director of BEEF, which was held with the Secretary Finance, Mushtaq Ahmed Raisani in the chair, the Fund would be utilized on admission of maximum children in the schools.
Others who attended the meeting were included: Secretary Higher and Technical Education, Ghulam Muhammad Sabir, Secretary Secondary Education, Abdul Saboor Kakar, besides other concerned senior officials.
Under the BEEF, the out-of-school children would be paid school admission scholarship of Rs. 500 each in case of admission in the school.
Similarly, every talented and deserving student would be awarded with the monthly stipend of Rs. 200 till completion of the primary level education in the schools.
The meeting also decided that the talented and deserving students of Matriculation would be paid monthly stipend of Rs. 750 each while the students of Intermediate would get the monthly stipend of Rs. 1500 each.
Moreover, the talented and deserving students studying in the provincial and national level institutions running under the Center of Excellence would also be given one-time scholarship grant.
Similarly, the intelligent and deserving students of graduation and post graduation level would also be given monthly scholarship of Rs. 2,000 and Rs. 3,000 respectively.
The scholarships would be given once the procedure is evolved in this regard, as per the decision made in the meeting.
The departments of Higher and Secondary Education would recommend the name of eligible talented and deserving students for grant of scholarships.
The scholarships would only be given to the students in light of the recommendations to be made by the Education departments.
