QUETTA: The Provincial Minister for Culture and Minorities, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani has directed to all the concerned authorities to ensure safety of the Christian community and their religious places.
He was chairing a meeting held to review the security of the minorities and their religious places including the churches, in backdrop of the suicide attacks on the churches in Lahore, the other day.
Those who attended the meeting were included: Minority Member of the Provincial Assembly belonging to Pashtoonkhaw Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), William Barkat, Secretary Home, Akbar Hussain Durrani, Commissioner Quetta Division, Kambar Dashti, Commandant Ghaza Band Scouts of Frontier Corps (FC), Deputy Commissioner Quetta, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations), besides other concerned high ups.
The meeting reviewed the security situation and arrangements made for protection of the Christians and the churches in Quetta and other parts of the province.
Certain decisions were also made in the meeting. It was stressed that all available resources would be mobilized to provide safety to the minorities including Christians living in different localities of Quetta and other parts of the province.
