Tree plantation drive in Zarghoon: Dr. Hamid calls on general public to take wholehearted part

QUETTA: Provincial Minister for Planning and Development, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai inaugurated the tree plantation campaign in the Zarghoon Housing Scheme.
Also present on the occasion were the Provincial Minister for Sports and Culture, Mir Mujeebur Rehman Muhammad Hassani, Advisor to Chief Minister for Forests and Wildlife, Ubaidullah Jan Babat, Secretary Quetta Development Authority, Imran Zarkoon, Director General QDA and other concerned high ups.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai said that the trees and saplings put positive impacts on environment of the area.
Moreover, they are also necessary for rains and thus ending the drought like situation, he maintained.
He said that the provincial government has decided to extensively launch the tree plantation campaign in the province.
As per decision of the provincial government, it has been targeted to plant 11.5 million saplings all over the province including Quetta, the Minister P&D mentioned.
He on the occasion urged the general public to fully participate in the tree plantation campaign. Proper care of the saplings after plantation is also essential, he stressed adding that the people should take care of the plants to be planted during the campaign.
If half of the targeted plants were flourished well, they would help a lot in making the province green, he believed.
He stressed the need to create awareness about tree plantation among the public representatives as well as the masses so that they may also take wholehearted part in it.
It is also responsibility of the civil society to take care of the saplings being planted in their respective areas, he stressed further.
Meanwhile, the Advisor to CM for Forests, Provincial Minister for Sports, Secretary and DG QDA also planted trees on the occasion.
Ubaidullah Babat also announced to donate 10,000 saplings to the QDA
