QUETTA: The shortage of drinking water has turned serious shape in the provincial metropolis. The people are suffering a lot due to the water issue mainly because the concerned authority has failed to ensure smooth supply of water in certain areas on regular basis.
This and similar views were expressed by the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Nazrayati (JUI-N), Syed Abdus Sattar Chishti while talking to a delegation of traders and residents of various areas, the other day.
He said that while the issue has turned serious in the city but the WASA is not paying any attention in this regard. He said that thousands of the people are suffering due to water shortage even in the cold weather. One can easily guess the gravity of issue from the fact that the water shortage persists in the winter and what would be the situation in summer anybody’s guess.
The people of different areas are forced to purchase water from the private water tanker operators just because they are not being supplied water by WASA.
Chishti also said that we would not be tolerating the water shortage any more.
