QUETTA: The Superintending Engineer of Operation Central Circle, QESCO, Engineer Abdul Karim has assured that all the issues of the labourers would be resolved immediately remaining in the available resources.
This assurance, he gave during an introductory meeting with the All Pakistan WAPDA Hydro Electric Workers Union Balochistan Operation Central Circle here the other day. Present in the meeting were the Zonal Chairman, Paind Khan Kurd, Hafiz Asmatullah, Abdullah and other office bearers.
The participants of the meeting welcomed the newly appointed Superintending Engineer of Operation Central Circle apprising him about the problems being faced by the labourers of the Circle.
The problems were related to the shortage of staff, their promotion and up-gradation, transfer and posting, hurdles in achieving of recovery targets, shortage of the vehicles, besides others.
The SE assured to resolve them besides issuing necessary orders in this regard as well.
He on the occasion also asked the staff to play their positive role in achieving the set targets of recovery as well as providing the best possible service to the customers.
He also directed to use their potential in prevention of power theft in their respective areas of posting.
Engineer Abdul Karim asserted that no one would be allowed to pilfer the electricity as well as get or use illegal connections.
He said that it has always been endeavor of the QESCO to provide best service to the consumers regularly paying the electricity bills / dues.
The SE on the occasion also pointed out that QESCO is facing serious financial crisis. Billions of rupees are outstanding against the defaulters including the government consumers as well as the agriculture, commercial and domestic consumers, he maintained.
Due to the financial crisis, the development of the institution as well as the public service is affected. The government should take steps for payment of the electricity dues so that the company is out of crisis and thus provide better service to the consumers, he maintained.
Referring certain issues taken up by the office bearers of the Unon, Engineer Abdul Karim assured that necessary steps would be resolved.
He said that the workers are asset of the company so it would be ensured to provide necessary security and adopt safety measures for protection of their lives.
He regretfully pointed out that our several workers have lost their lives due to lack of implementation on the safety code during duty.
