Govt. taking steps for provision of basic facilities to masses

QUETTA: The present provincial government is taking certain steps for development of the province and provision of basic facilities to the masses.
This was stated by the Secretary Planning and Development department, Zulfiqar Durrain while talking to a delegation led by the Project Director, Gwadar Lasbela Livelihood Support Project, Saleh Baloch here the other day.
Durrani mentioned that development is taking place in all the government sectors thanks to the sincere efforts made by the government under leadership of Chief Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch.
He said that particularly the government paid special attention towards education and health sector in the province. Following the steps taken by the government, remarkable improvement is being witnessed, he maintained.
He said that Balochistan has great importance due to its strategic location in the region. The entire province and the country would develop after making the Gwadar port operational, he believed.
Earlier, the members of the delegation informed the Secretary P&D about the aims and objectives of the project.
The Project Director said that the project had been launched in January 2013 with the aim to raise the living standard of people of Gwadar and Lasbela districts. The project is being implemented in some 26 rural union councils of the two districts, he mentioned.
It was also aimed at creating awareness among the people about different means of income and livelihood, Saleh Baloch maintained.
The Secretary appreciated the project and assured his wholehearted cooperation to it on behalf of the provincial government.
