QUETTA: The Senor General Manager of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Abdul Majid has said that the Company has decided to set up 24 LPG stations all over the Balochistan province.
In first phase, the LPG stations would be set up in Bela, Zhob, Awaran and Loralai, the senior official of the SSGC told a gathering at the Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries here the other day.
Also present on the occasion were Chairman of the Chamber, Wali Muhammad Noorzai, Jumma Khan, Malik Nadeem Kasi, Naseemur Rehman Mulakhail, Mir Hasan Kasi, Naimatullah and others.
The senior GM of SSGC maintained that all available resources are being mobilized for meeting the gas requirements of the people of Balochistan.
In this regard, we are going to set up at least 24 LPG stations all over the province. These stations would be established in different phases, he maintained.
He mentioned that at present there are only 1,000 applications with the Company for provision of gas connections. These applications would be disposed off providing the gas connection to the applicants, he added.
Abdul Majid Malik on the occasion pointed out that since Balochistan is a very vast province with scattered population, so it is difficult to make available gas in every nook and corner.
He also mentioned that the issue of gas pressure is created in some areas during cold weather because of its excessive consumption.
He said that the gas being produced in the Zarghoon gas field and being supplied from there is only meant for Quetta.
SSGC’s crackdown:
The crackdown is continued against the gas pilfering and illegal connection holders in different parts of Quetta and its suburbs.
According to the sources of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), over 45 illegal gas connections were disconnected in the areas of Hazar Ganji, Killi Shamozai, Zehri Town and Killi Chitlan Raisani.
The senior General Manager of SSGC, Abdul Majid Malik and General Manager SSGC Balochistan, Agha Muhammad Baloch supervised the campaign against the pilfering of gas.
It was announced that the crackdown against the gas pilfering would remain continued till prevention of its theft.
In this regard, no one would be spared, it was warned.
It was mentioned that over 400 illegal gas connections have so far been disconnected during the campaign.
