SC orders police to recover missing person Zahir Muzaffar within two weeks

ISLAMABAD, Sept 20 (Online): Supreme Court (SC) while expressing grave concern over non recovery of missing person Zahir Muzaffar has ordered police to recover and produce him before it within two weeks.
A 3-member bench of SC headed by Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali took up Zahir Muzaffar missing person case for hearing Friday.
Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali remarked “ as to why police have failed to recover missing person despite lapse of such long time. The missing youth can be recovered if police performs its duty in proper way.
Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Ali Zai told the court “ the investigations have proved that Zahir Muzaffar case is not case of forced disappearance at all. He has left his home as per his own will. The court had taken into possession all relevant belongings from his home during investigation.
Muzaffar father of missing youth expressed reservations over DAG repot saying had he left his home on his sweet will then he would have taken with him some belongings but he had not taken with him even some money.
Aamna Masud Janjua, DAG Ali Zai, Additional Advocate General (AAG) Punjab and police personnel appeared in the court. Police presented report before the court.
Ali Zai told the court investigations were started as per statement of father of Zahir Muzaffar and this is not the case of forced disappearance.
Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali remarked “ as to why you could not get recover him so far.
Ali Zai said “ we are making efforts but we have not achieved any success so far.
Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali observed “ the court is left with no other solution except to giving more time.
Aamna Masud told the court belongings of Zahir Muzaffar have been found. If he had not been picked up forcibly, then he would have taken with him some belongings with him.
Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali remarked “ we can get record evidence with reference to it.
The hearing of the case was adjourned for two weeks.
