CM visits Beef &Sheep farm near Canberra

CANBERRA (Australia)(PPI): There are 13 million sheep in Balochistan which is highest number in Pakistan. There are extraordinary opportunities for developing wool industry.
This was stated by Balochistan chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch during his visit to Beef and Sheep Farm in the suburb of here Sunday.
He was accompanied by Federal minister Sikandar Hayat Bosan, Chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council Dr Iftikhar Ahmed, a progressive grower of Sindh Imdad Ali Nizamani, Faizullah, International Marketing specialist Grant Venning and Ms Maria Manager agri project under execution in border areas of Balochistan with Australian assistance. He called for FAO experts working on agri project in Balochistan so that carpet weaving cottage industry gets promotion. He added that produce of this industry should also be ensured access to the markets. It would increase employment avenues particularly rural women more chances of employment.
Chief Minister expressed keen interest in the development of meat and animals and their international trade. He also visited different parts of the farm and machinery.
He was informed that modern methods can help develop livestock sector. He said with Australian Assistance FAO Experts were executing a project in borders areas of Baochsitan under which healthy food, vaccination health facilities for animals and artificial development of animals to increase in their number.
Chief Minister also visited potato and ginger farm along with members of his delegation where owner of the farm briefed him about increase in per acre yield of potato and ginger, its transportation to the consumers, suitable profit and other aspects.
