QESCO suspends several electricity connections in Quetta, other parts

QUETTA: Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) suspended several electricity connections on non-payment in different areas of the province including Quetta district.
According to the QESCO spokesman, millions of rupees are outstanding against the defaulters of the electricity bills in the province.
In a bid to recover the dues, the QESCO decided to suspend power supply to the defaulters without any discrimination.
So, the crackdown has been started against the defaulters and their power connections are being disconnected, the spokesman of QESCO told the media.
He mentioned that some 288 power connections have been disconnected in Quetta besides 51 in Kalat, Mastung and Khuzdar, 103 in Loralai, Qala Saifullah and Chaman and over 160 connections disconnected in Sibi, Dhadhar, Lehri.
Similarly, some 67 connections have so far been disconnected in Naseerabad, Jaffarabad and Usta Muhammad.
The defaulters whose connections were disconnected are included: commercial, domestic and agriculture consumers besides the government departments and different water supply schemes being operated by the concerned government departments.
The QESCO spokesman said that the QESCO authorities have decided to continue the campaign for recovery of the electricity bills and the arrears on their account.
