Balochistan cyclists proceed for Tour de Punjab Cycle Race

QUETTA: Balochistan cycling squad proceeded for Rahim Yar Khan to feature in the Tour de Punjab Cycle Race starting there.
The national level cycling event has been organized by the Pakistan Cycling Federation.
The office bearers of Balochistan Cycling Association (BCA) Gul Muhammad Kakar, Arbab Nasarullah Kasi, Munir Baig, Nazar Muhammad, Syed Sadiq Agha and others saw off the 14-member provincial cycling squad at the Railway Station as they left Quetta by train.
The squad comprises: Maqsood Ahmed, Sadam Hussain, Kifayatukllah, Israr Ahmed, Abdul Samad, Babul, Zaman Khan, Abdul Hakeem, Muhammad Younas, Muhammad Ismail, Habibullah and Bashir Ahmed.
Sher Muhammad and Abdul Wahid would be accompanied the team as Coach and Manager respectively.
Meanwhile, Gul Muhammad Kakar mentioned that the cyclists attended a training camp for around one month so that they may demonstrate excellent performance in the race.
While seeing off the cycling team, Gul Kakar advised it to maintain discipline in the race.
The selection committee of the team was comprised Munir Baig, Sher Muhammad, Abdul Wahid Kasi, Arbab Nasarullah, Nazar Muhammad and Sanaullah.
It may be mentioned here that the Tour de Punjab cycle race would be held in six different stages covering 196 kilometers from Rahim Yar Khan to Rawalpindi.
He mentioned that the Tour de Punjab Cycle Race would cover a distance of 904 kilometer. There would be six stages in the race with first stage starting from Rahim Yar Khan.
The cyclists would cover the distance of some 196 kilometers between Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalpur in the first stage. The second stage would be between Bahawalpur and Multan to be held on March 23. The cyclists would cover distance of 110 kilometers. Similarly, the third stage would be between Multan and Sahiwal encompassing 165 kilometers.
The fourth stage of the race would be completed between Sahiwal to Lahore covering 160 kilometers with the fifth stage to be done from Lahore to Gujrat. The cyclists would cover distance of 115 kilometers in the second last stage of the race.
In the end, the last phase of 157 kilometers would be between Gujrat to Rawalpindi.
